Light Jet

Different in Design.
Prodigious in
Performance.

The Cessna Citation M2 is a turbofan-powered light corporate jet built by the Cessna Aircraft Company in Independence, Kansas. The Citation M2 is based on the earlier Model 525 CitationJet (CJ1).

The original Model 525 CitationJet was launched in 1989. The M2 was launched in September 2011 and it was described as a new light business jet. The M2 is based on the then out-of-production CJ1 variant and features a new cabin layout and a more efficient version of the Williams FJ44 engine. The M2 first flew on 9 March 2012. An M2 may cost around US$2-3 per nautical mile to operate, whereas the G650 and similar may cost $5-6.

The Citation M2 is a low-wing cantilever monoplane with retractable tricycle landing gear, a pressurized cabin, a T-tail, and is powered by two Williams FJ44-1AP-21 turbofan engines that are pylon-mounted on the rear fuselage.
