Question 1

How do I book a private jet with DesJets?

Accepted Answer

Booking is simple. You can request a quote through our website, call us at 1-800-DES-JETS. Our charter specialists will work with you to find the perfect aircraft, confirm availability, and provide a detailed quote — usually within 30 minutes.

Question 2

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

While we can arrange flights with as little as 4 hours notice, we recommend booking 48-72 hours in advance for the best aircraft selection and pricing. For peak travel periods (holidays, major events), booking 1-2 weeks ahead is ideal.

Question 3

Can I book a one-way flight?

Accepted Answer

Yes! One-way flights are one of the biggest advantages of private aviation. You only pay for the flight you need. We also offer empty leg deals for one-way flights at significantly reduced rates.

Question 4

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellation policies vary by operator and aircraft type. Typically, cancellations made 72+ hours before departure are fully refundable. Cancellations within 24-72 hours may incur a partial fee. We'll provide the specific policy with your quote.

Question 5

How is private jet charter pricing determined?

Accepted Answer

Charter pricing depends on several factors: aircraft type, route distance, flight duration, positioning costs, landing fees, and seasonal demand. We provide transparent, all-inclusive quotes with no hidden fees.

Question 6

Are there any hidden fees?

Accepted Answer

No. Our quotes include the aircraft charter cost, crew, fuel, landing fees, and applicable taxes. We're transparent about pricing — what we quote is what you pay. Any potential additional costs (catering, ground transportation) are discussed upfront.

Question 7

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept wire transfers, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), and corporate accounts. Payment is typically required before the flight, with specific terms outlined in your charter agreement.

Question 8

What are empty leg flights?

Accepted Answer

Empty legs are repositioning flights that occur when an aircraft needs to fly without passengers to its next booking or home base. These flights are offered at 30-75% off regular rates. The trade-off is less flexibility on dates and times.

Question 9

How do you ensure flight safety?

Accepted Answer

Safety is our top priority. Every operator in our network holds a valid Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), maintains comprehensive insurance, and undergoes regular safety audits. We verify crew qualifications, maintenance records, and operational history before adding any operator to our network.

Question 10

Are your operators certified?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All operators in the DesJets network hold valid AOCs from their respective aviation authorities (FAA, EASA, etc.) and meet stringent safety requirements. We partner with 69+ certified operators worldwide.

Question 11

What happens in case of bad weather?

Accepted Answer

Safety always comes first. If weather conditions are unsafe for flight, we'll work with you to reschedule or find an alternative routing. Our operations team monitors weather continuously and will proactively communicate any potential impacts to your travel plans.

Question 12

What types of aircraft are available?

Accepted Answer

We offer 352 aircraft across 11 categories: Piston, Turboprop, Very Light Jet, Light Jet, Mid Jet, Super Mid Jet, Large Jet, Long Range Jet, VIP Airliner, Regional Airliner, and Airliner. From 2-seat propeller aircraft to 300+ seat airliners.

Question 13

Can I choose a specific aircraft?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. You can browse our entire fleet on the website and request a specific aircraft type or even a specific tail number. Our specialists will check availability and provide options that match your preferences.

Question 14

How many bags can I bring?

Accepted Answer

Baggage capacity varies by aircraft. Light jets typically accommodate 4-6 bags, mid-size jets 6-8 bags, and large jets 10+ bags. We also accommodate golf clubs, skis, and oversized items on many aircraft. Check the specific aircraft page for details.

Question 15

Can I bring pets on board?

Accepted Answer

Yes! One of the great advantages of private aviation is that your pets fly in the cabin with you. Most operators welcome pets with advance notice. Just let us know when requesting your quote.

Question 16

What about catering and special requests?

Accepted Answer

We can arrange custom catering for any flight — from light snacks and beverages to gourmet multi-course meals. Special requests such as specific newspapers, entertainment, flowers, or celebrations are also easily accommodated.

Question 17

Can I fly internationally on a private jet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many of our aircraft are capable of international flights, including transatlantic and transpacific routes. We handle all customs, immigration, and overflight permits as part of our service.

Question 18

What documents do I need for international private flights?

Accepted Answer

You'll need a valid passport for international flights. Depending on your destination, a visa may also be required. We'll advise you on specific requirements when you book. Customs and immigration clearance is handled at private FBO terminals for a streamlined experience.
